ZC into 1st gen questions
Hey guys I was wondering what is needed to swap a ZC motor into a 1st Gen CRX/Civic. Is it a bolt in swap like the EF? What ECU,Axles, tranny, etc. are needed? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks
How about the Si motor(Don't know the code) out of the EF CRX/Hatch? Do these bolt in? If they do that would be a pretty nice motor to have. My friends Si rex is running high 14s with bolt ons.
the engine mount is off...although I've heard that if you use the tranny out of the teg's that it'll work...dont know, ask phatdickin_crx or jdmb18hatch...they're trying to do this....

do you mean a crx like the 87 model, if so then you need to have the SI crx because its fuek injection. trust me i was gonna get a first gen crx and swap a b16a in it, when i saw the price for motor mounts i decided to go with a zc, then i heard that the only zc that actuall y bolts on to the first gen crx is the "brown cover" ZC. but then again, i've heard some bad things on thjat brown cover motor. NOW, axles, i have no idea but i would guess that you would use the integra axles(first gen)
If you have an '86-'87 Si, the simplest swap is an '86-'87 Integra swap. Since you are in California and have smog issues, find a donor teg and salvage the ECU, front brakes, knuckles, axles, engine and tranny. Make sure to save the tranny mount as well. The January issue of Sport Compact Car has an article regarding this swap into a Civic Si, but it works for the CRX as well.
got a 88-89 5spd teg ECU for sale..if interested..
