Default WaterPump Tstat HeaterCore oh my!

There is some weird CRX heating voodoo going on in my car

When the car is running the temp gauge goes to warm at its regular pace, when the temp gauge is sitting at warm there is still no heat in the car. A few more miles down the road the heat will start getting warm after this point the heat will just go from warm to cold, warm for a few minutes then colder again then back to warm, the temp gauge In the car stays steady the whole time this is happening. Over a few weeks it has gotten worse and worse now I rarely get warm air from the vents anymore. I have even tried a nice peice of cardboard infront of the radaitor with little sucess.

I looks like my water pump is starting to go bad, makes some nice noises and has started to leak some you think the water pump beginning to fail could cause this sort of problem? Or is some else at fault here. the car has NEVER shown any signs of overheating and the gauge seems to be working fine(ran car with fan unplugged and it went up).

My only other shots in the dark are the Tstat working really really weird or some chunk of nastyness floating around my cooling system clogging when it pleases.

Has anybody seen a problem like this before?

I've had something clog my heater, but it happened when I was bypassing it, and the two ports were open for a few months.

Thermostat may be acting up, but replace it and the water pump, and make sure to bleed the system afterward.
