Manual trans service
i just got my manual transmission service done on 03 civic ex. but got a question here. dealer showed me two different service for this, one where they connect the machine and flush out everything from the transmission and it takes about 5-6 qts of oil and costs $119.00, other where you just drain and fill the oil for $44.00 which takes about 2 qts of oil. I got the drain and fill change done for $44.00, i definately feel the difference, it feels like butter when you change the gear. just to confirm from any of you, is there a service like that where you connect the machine ? i thought that its only for the automatic trans only. please let me know, just curious.
I know of the service where you can connect the machine, but as well only on auto transmissions. I don't think you could do it on manual, there are no tranny lines to hook the machine to.
I think a drain/fill is fine for your car. Just make sure to do it regularly.

That's for an auto tranny, unless they've started 'flushing' manuals now, but I don't think there'd be much benefit to it. You only have 2-3 qt in your manual box, and regular maintenance is just drain and fill.
