I don't usually do this kinda thing but its for a friend. He's getting some body work done due to some vandalism and could get a CF hood cheaper than an OEM painted hood. His main concern is that without any other mods, and still riding on stock hubcaps, the black hood won't look to good on a white 95 Integra. I think it'd look fine for now and a good start for later when he might get rims or whatever else.

 

personally i dont like cf on white... but if he can get cheaper than oem.. why not

 

if and when i get a spoon hood for my car, i will paint it white to match the car.

I think carbon fiber looks good on any color but white, its too much of a contrast.

i think cf only looks good with a nice contrast(black/white), otherwise it does look like a black hood from the junkyard at distance. it depends on the rest of the car i guess but if i ever got one for my R-81, i would paint it

I was lookin at my car with salt all over it the other day, thinkin about how I would never in a million years think about putting white parts on my black car, even though it's the same idea as putting black parts any other color car car. Know what I mean?

So basically, black hoods can look good to us, cos we know what they are and associate that with modified cars etc...but to your everyday person lookin at it objectively, they'll just think it looks unpainted. Bottom line is black parts clash just like any other mismatched parts would, but car people are kind conditioned and used to them.

I'd say paint it, especially if the rest of the car is stock.

For unpainted, withcertain mods and certain colors.

 

ima fan of cf hoods on white hondas, just get the color theme throughout the car. but i would not get a cf hood for my white sti though.

 

why dont u just get a fiberglass hood?....

i would paint it no matter what. but, i think unpainted wont look right when the rest of the car is stock. it may be considered ricey.
