Default REbuilt gearbox - installed, now car will not turn on...

Hi guys - a strange problem here...

1 week ago , i removed my 1992 honda civic HB gearbox to rebuild ( bearings + synchro etc) . Due to some parts that needed to be ordered in , the car was left on jackstands and battery disconnected for 1 week.

Last night , myself and a friend re-installed the gearbox + new main seal + axle seals and lubed the lot up + tightened every bolt etc. We went over the lot - starter in and ready to go . I turned the key , I could hear the fuel pump pre-pressurize and then the usual "click". I turned the key - and ......"whirrrrrlllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll" .
The engine isnting iginiting ?!?

*update* Ive checked starter ( engine is turning TRYING to compress and ignite but no fuel ?!?) , dizzy+igniting system - all is working fine. I tried to clutch start too - but it WONT turn over.

What has happened ? Any ideas ? IT is either fuel related , or something i have no idea about - BUT for sure it has happened in the last week ?!?

Could the cylinders be flooded ? BAH im going crazy from stress here...

Anything ive missed...help

Would it be one of the set of the wires that are held by the two bolts in the middle of this pic?

Thanks guys - Thermo ground is securely on.

Car will no start still - update is , ive had a look inside each combustion chamber ( via takign out spark plug etc) and there is a light wetness look to the cylinder heads - perhaps excess oil or soemthing not lettign the car start correctly ?

Ive tried starting with WOT , to correct "flooded " condition - the car ALMOST starts and blows abit of grey smoke. . . i still dont realyl have an idea.
