Default Why are Type-R conversion so Expensive?!

Any one know how they rose in price within the last year? I remember you can get a brand new OEM one for 1400, now no one's selling it for less than $2400. Anyone know a place or site that offers the best prices on the oem conversion?

Are you looking for a JDM front end conversion, or do you want to convert a GSR to a Type R?

For new parts?
$1400 maybe for a "Cali" Kit (Ewww)
$2400 maybe for a fiberglass or used OEM kit

Its always been about the same price, Which IS NOT too far from USDM Nose prices, All the same parts for a USDM Nose comes out to about $2500-2800 Figure in customs shipping etc from japan and its not so far off

Same with JDM SR3 Recaro seats Everyone is always saying that they are So expensive ($2000 a seat) Well USDM ITR Seats are $1600 each

And thats the same with the majority of parts people think Oh its JDM its going to be a much much higher price, well No USDM counterparts are just as much, JDM is usually a few dollars more after you price in customs shipping and the like.

Hope I didnt come off as an *******, I just get this response of "Oh JDM parts are so much more" all the time.

ha ha, that was a good one... but lets stick to the topic. nobody asked you what you thought about a type r, the topic is about type r front ends. i was simply saying that it's a fock'n waste of money in my opinion if it doesn't make you or the car faster...

Fiberglass sucks

Only reason I got the conversion is someone hit my car lightly, But enough that I had to replace a few panels and I decided it was a good time to do the conversion.

Get the OEM sheetmetal. It's not worth the savings to get fiberglass.

The reaon for going JDM conversation is, cause there is no REAL kit for the USDM version to improve lower air resistance. You can buy bumpers from CRUX, Mugen, etc, to have more downforce........For USDM there are only bumpers for looks and not performance out there.

pricing might fluctuate with exchange rates and shipping costs.

with the advent of the dc5, how long will honda japan still produce jdm bodywork for the non-roundeye dc2?
