helms manual...
will a helms manual help me in stripping all the interior of an ek hatch..... i want to strip everything from the dash...to the quarter panels....i was trying to take the panels on the hatch off and it was freakin hard...whats the easiest way to take off those black snap on screws (what ever they are called)...just break them off? i need some help.........i searched but didnt find much on stripping an ek....anyone ever seen a how to on here? any input woudl be helpful
Nah, mostly it shows the dash I believe and like seat removal, trunk latch removal, that sort of stuff, I only spent a minute flipping through.
But I'll give you a tip on those stupid snap in black clips with the ribs on the side of the insertion part (OH SO DIRTY
). Take a small flathead screwdriver, and pull one side up as much as you can w/o stressing the clip too much. Then take a pair of slim needle nose pliers and slide the pliers under the edges, and work it in gently enough till you can grasp the shaft in the middle. Then simply stick your finger under the pliers, or something for leverage, and pop it out. I hate breaking those damned clips, and I find this works best.

good input...imma try that...i always just get pissed and end up breaking them...i have very little patience sometimes when i want to do something quick...any more info? where could i find how to strip the car completely?
I also own one of those "panel removal" tools, only problem is, I dont trust it in spots where I'd rather not scratch plastic or metal, sometimes its difficult to get in under the clip w/o scratching the panel, and when using to pull panels I dont trust it to NOT scratch paint/other panels.
The pliers trick only takes a minute, and worth not ruining panels/breaking clips.

yea the "push in puller" V shaped tool also is made with a rubber coating so not to harm paint. Or you could just put tape around the area you don't want scratched. Find a snap on truck or matco and they'll have the tool on board, most likely.
