Default BAD Experience WITH JHP USA ...(Details inside)

Well, As you all know...JHP USA is now a Honda-tech Sponsor, in which I feel to keep this board going, we should all as members support the sponsors on this board by giving them your 1st business before other shops.

Anyhow, "Jackson" posted a <U>"special"</U> on Skunk 2 Cams and receive a<U> "free"</U> Blox intake manifold.

Here is the original Post:

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1073392

Well if you go on JHP USA's Site, Skunk 2 Cams are 519.00 USD.

So of course, Logically I thought 519.00 and Ill receive a FREE Blox intake manifold, as it only pertained to H-T MEMBERS ..... SWEET!

here is there online advertisment...

http://www.jhpusa.com/catalog/...d18ab

Anyhow, I give JHP a call to check stock on the items I wanted and they had both the Skunk 2 Type 2's and the Blox I/M.

Well, When I mentioned I was a "H-T Member" in hoping I would get the items mentioned for <U>519.00 </U>. Well the "owner" said...word for word " hahaha, Nah man...Its not 519.00, That how much I have the cams for on the site. For H-T members you pay a "higher" price for the cams and then receive a free Blox I/M"
I told him, "I don't get it! The price for the cams is 519.00, your employee posted this supposed "Special" for h-t members and now your telling me its bullshit?"
He then replies back with " Haha, Listen man..We wouldnt be making any money if we gave away Blox I/M for free, for buying cams. . I can do everything for 700 picked up."

Im like, WTF??? It started implimenting in my mind that they posted this "false" advertising sale to make dedicated members on the board call them and fall into there sorry sales lines.

Maybe, there was a confusion from the owner to the Employee that posting this "SALE" for H-T members.

SO I recommend changing your post and being VERY clear on your "supposed" hook-up for H-T members.

Til then, Ill take my business else where...Imo, every shop needs to have integrity in what they say and sell. Therefore you guys have lost me as a customer.

Just warning other Members on the board, to NOT fall for the good ol' "Bait and Switch" type of deal........

hmm, It doesn't make sense. So if your a member on the board, you basically have to pay more to receive something free? Thats a good one

"Give me a 100,000 for my stock civic hatchback, and ill give a Brand new Bmw M3 for free!!"

Good luck on your finding of cams and what not, and thanks for the input

im curious where you got the $519 price from..i see it sayd $699 in jackson's post....$700 picked up would be cheaper than posted since youre paying $1 in tax.

???

EDIT: the skunk stage 2's were $519 on jhp so you though if you paid $519 instead of the posted $699, you would stil get the BLOX mani.

I don't see how it was deceiving at all. They were very clear about the price for the package deal here on H-T.

* JHP posts a "special" up in the sponsor forum and clearly stated the price for BOTH items.

* Their website shows the cheaper price for JUST the cams.

* Of course there is an inflation in the price for the cams + "free" IM. You really don't expect them to just give away the IM because they're nice guys???

Their blox IM range from 220-230 in price. When you factor that into the special they're giving you, you're getting a $40-$50 discount when you buy both of them as a package. Your expectation for them to start giving away $2xx dollar IMs just becuase you're on honda-tech is kinda ridiculous.

To anyone with logic,....It doesnt make sense.

So you have to pay an inflation or mark up on the cams to get a free I/M
When, your not a member, you pay cheaper for the cams

"IMO", this was a bad experience and they have lost me as a customer. If any of you wanna pertain doing business with a company like this..then good for you.

Reaction i don't know how you got confused but you did and in the thread posted by jackson it clearly states

"Purchase skunk2 stage 1,2,3 B-series VTEC cams or buddy club 3+, 4 B-Series
VTEC cams and receive a FREE BLOX B16A/Type R or B18C/GSR intake manifold.
$699 shipped (Continental USA only)."

K, Humping Dragon...look at what he posted "PURCHASE SKUNK cams! and Receive a BLOX I/M for FREEEEEE"

No where did it say " Pay more for Skunk Cams and receive a intake manifold for free "

It clearly states, Purchase the cams and receive a free manifold. So to MY understanding, If I call them up and have them grant there website price of 519.00 for the cams and then pay for it. Then tell them.."Im a H-T member", to they then give me a blox I/M? Look at what it says, if your a member and buy Skunk Cams, you receive a FREE BLOX I/M. How is that confusing?
In general, its stating ...buying the cams in general will get you a free I/M. No where do I see it say "buying the cams at retail price and not the advertised "sale" price on there website"
IMO, Im not over reacting. This is a "Business" and false advertising of this such, isnt justifyable in my books.

i guess the word free doesnt mean what it did back in the day. buy something get something free, not buy something that we included the price of the free thyng into. just like the above post that i didnt read until just now. lol.

I agree that it's false advertising. There's no reason we should have to put up with deceptive sellers - sponsor or no sponsor. If they'd advertised it as a "package price" this thread wouldn't be here.

I've always been slightly annoyed that you can't purchase any of their "H-T" specials on their website. I hate using the phone -- which is why they've lost out on my business several times.

Its just different, cause they manipulate members on this board that there getting a "hook up" for being a member and in theory your realistically the price is evening out the retail side, cause your paying a higher price for the cams

I'll be the first to agree that its not exactly the most upfront way to advertise a special. But you guys are arguing this like you just feel off the turnip truck.

As a buyer its your responsibility to shop around and see who offers the product at price that you can agree with. When you see a HT sponsor advertising a special, like a cam set for $150 more than most other retailers sell them for.....shouldn't that get the wheels turning in your head?? Its not like they're the only people that sell the cam.....just take your business to another vendor who has a price for the cams only (not the IM price built into the cam price too), pay the $5xx bucks and call it day.
