I usually use a hammer and tap on the collars to dislodge them, and then brake and parts cleaner to clean the threads. It depends on how tight you left them.

I haven't used the tool in years.

Why don't you just order another set of wrenches? I got my HKS for like $40 new.

flathead screwdriver + hammer to break them loose, then clean the threads and use your fingers
