I just want to make a point here:

If you do not own a Type-R and you come in to the Type-R forum and post something basically saying "Type-R sighting Posts Are Gay" then you should expect to get flamed, etc, etc.

I don't understand why people do this, then get flamed, and then go around saying "Yeah, those Type-R owners think they are so much better, blah blah blah"

It has notihng to do with that. If you post something stupid in the Kills forum, they will tear you apart. I'd say here in the Type-R forum we are all pretty nice for the most part when it comes to non-R owners posting questions, etc. But when you start wasting people's time and posting stupid **** you cross the line.

Summary: If you don't drive a Type-R fine; no big deal, but then don't come in the Type-R forum and tell us Type-R sighting posts are stupid (or anything else pertaining to the operation of the Type-R forum). I think most don't mind question from non-R owners, but show some respect (no, not because we own Type-R's, because this is our forum, and you are in it).

 

But they are stupid... ...Type R sighting post are annoying!!!..who the FCK cares if you've seen an R? Its no big deal anymore!

I think they are very useful.

If I see an R in my area dn want to know if he is on the board, it would be helpful to post and see if anyone responds.

Why do you even care; if you don't like them then don't read them.

 

Yea, I don't really mind them, I just look to see if it's in my area, if it's not I move on. Don't mind it nearly as bad as going into a topic called "What's my compression if _____" and it's some guy with a D16 motor, posting here because "it gets a lot of traffic," or, "this forum is the most knowledgable".......

 

I just want to make one note.. anyone can come in here. This forum is supposed to be about the Integra Type-R, it's NOT your (or "our") forum. Granted, 75% of the posts aren't about ITRs, but that's a different issue.

I personally don't care about the ITR sighting posts, I just wont waste my time reading them.

Sackdz: well you have to admit, that d16 guy is more likely to get a intelligent answer here than in some other forums on ht.

I've tried to lock/move/delete anything that is not pertinent to R's or occassionally people in the ITR forum (yes Dave, this includes you, you're one of the "honorary" ITR forum members b/c you KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT!)

Which works out good for the most part.. as long as it's not locked down like the normal integra forum was before.. gee no wonder it died for awhile there, EVERY other topic was locked.. that's overboard, at least some OT content is good.

not to drag this topic on...or start a flame war or anything....but if you are trying to find R's in your area, wouldn't it be quicker just to do a search? that's what its there for.

Second, not every R owner in the world is on H-T...

third...I come here to learn techinical info and about aftermarket parts for my R as the name "Honda-Tech" suggests...if I wanted to have a pow wow with other Honda owners I'd go to Clubsi or a local BBS...

Again this is not a flame...I understand where you're coming from, but at times it get excessive to see three or four "Type R sighted" or even "Type R stolen", "Selling my R", "Type R vandalized", ..or whatever...I feel for you all, but enough is enough...Let's turn this back into a real tech board rather than a senseless info board!

I kinda like the sightings posts, if you don't liek them, then don't click on them. It's pretty simple.

 

I like the sightings postings as long as you're a fellow R owner (no not because we have Type-R's). I do it because I want to see if the guy is a honda-tech member and if so then we can chat a little more. I'm not posting just because I saw one. If I saw a Porsche 911 Turbo on the road I wouldn't go to a 911 forum and say I saw one in my area.

2. Why would I be mad that no Type R owners in Japan post here??...that doesn't make any kind of sense...personally I don't care...I go to my local BBS for all that stuff.

Yes I do come here because there are things I cannot pick up from my BBS, and that is concrete tech knowledge about my car....but lately, all that H-T has become is a playground for little **** head kiddie wars for the rejects from clubsi...I am just trying to convince to moderators not to let the Type R forum go to pot like it seems to have lately.

According to Onyx, if you don't own a type r you are not allowed in the type r forum. Granted I don't have a type r, I still visit this forum because I am able to learn a lot of useful information. Hopefully all of you other R owners don't feel the same way as Onyx. If you do, I guess the next step is to make the ITR forum a private forum where you have to verify that you drive an itr. Do you guys have a problem with other car owners, beside type r's, visiting and posting in your forum? Sorry for making a post about type r sightings, I didn't mean any harm by it. I guess I had no room to voice my opinions about the matter anyway because I drive a POS integra RS.
