Hey guys, Iwas wondering is it hard to get a regular title made, if the car was a salvage or stloen, would that be reconstructed???? The reason im asking is i live in pa and want to bring a r back from the dead if i can find one. Ihave my type r **** to put in it, and have always wanted an R but could not afford 1 thats why i b snatched up an SI, any help on where to find a itr with a missing motor and wheels would be great relitivly cheap though, and if any one in pa has done this, is it hard to get a title to be legal? thanx

 

i heard it can be done, but depends your states laws and regulations and who you know. a salvage title is there to protect a potential buyer from being ripped off so i assume it would be very difficult to have it removed from the title. there is no point in removing it anyway unless you were trying to make more money on it if you were to sell it. and since you dont even have the car yet i wouldnt even worry about it.

 

in PA what you gotta do is buy the car, and you will get a salvage certificate.go to a notary and get reconstruction paper work(mv/426b)replace/fix what needs fixed on the car, keep all your recipts of the parts you bought(you'll need to attach those to the paper work to send into harrisburg).after the car is fixed take 4 pictures of the car(front,rear,left side, right side. make sure theres not windo tint on the windows or it will fail).then take the car and the paper work to an inspection station and have the car inspected and the paperwork filled out by the inspector. once this is done, take the paperwork and you salvage certificate to a notary and they make sure everthing is correct and send it in. 2 weeks(usually) you'll get your title and registration in the mail and be ready to go get a plate. its sorta a pain to jump through all these hoops but it keeps hacks from putting together crappy unsafe cars and saleing them.if you need any help just PM me, i'll do what i can to give you a hand.

 

all i do is rebuild salvage integras and Si's... done about 8 so far and now doing 1 every week or two!

i know here in quebec you just need to get the car inspected then it can be put back on the road!
