9.5 would be the best bet. Endyn sells them, but they were back ordered last time i checked.
Otherwise go with 10:1. This advise is of course given under the assumption that you are building the block.

High compression high boost is the way to go.

I thought having high comp and running boost at the same time aren't good bed fellows.

High compression just makes it more prone to detonation. Tuning is much easier with low compression.

i run 10.1. When we tuned it made 503 hp @17.5 psi

Lower compression will feel a little more sluggish of boost but not that much

how much boost would be allowable on 11.6:1? or definitely a bad idea?

Haveing lower compression pistons allow more room for error, but it's a slug on the low end.

Driving my friends 1g TSI (7.8:1 comp or something close to that) below about 3k it feels like a slug.

If you got a good tuner who knows what he is doing go for higher ones, but if you want to be safe go for the 9:1's

The ringlands are the weakpoint. So get some forged pistons with the sleeves.

Default Pistons?

Don't forget, if you're going to be getting forged pistons, you need to sleeve that bad boy.

9.5:1 works very well with boost if you've worked on the lower end. My advise also, is not to get a head gasket that lowers or highers your CR. Leave the gasket alone.

I'd go with 9:1 if you plane on boosting over 10 psi

9:1 is the best, if not lower. but i suppose for you pussies that are too scared to run over 15lbs of boost then 9.5:1 would be good for you.

why spend all that money on builing a motor and not see what it can do.........i think i'm gonna hit the dyno and try to free spool my 60 trim hehe jk

When I build up my bottom end, I'm going for 9.5:1 pistons & some good engine tuning. With that 9.5 I'll be able to add a few more lbs of boost.
You'll be fine with 10:1 forged, just as long as you get some good tuning done. Not to mention, it may require you to use higher octane fuel if you are boosting with high compression.

*Edit: Actually, how many psi are you going for? I didn't even know. I'm assuming 6-8 psi territory? How much boost you want to push will make a difference. That's one of the first things I would consider in determining which pistons to get.*

I'm boosting 10 right now. Didnt last to long. See i'm trying to work it out so i dont loss low end. And have really good high end. My goal is more like 350hp. My goal isnt 500+ ( 9.1 with 20lbs of boost.) over kill for me.Mybe later.

if you install any aftermarket piston on any H series block you have sleeve it if you did'nt already know. But Mahle pistons is now selling a piston for the H series that will allow you to run them with out sleeving. the volume sizesare -1cc, -7cc, 10cc with bore sizes from 87mm to 87.25 check it out a http://www.mahlemotorsports.com

That isn't true. I have aftermarket pistons on my H22 and it was never sleeved. Just honed.
