Default side moldings off???

i'm trying to put together a full sir body together and i would like to get the 88 side moldings (the ones with a little stripe in the middle) to match the sir bumper. i can get the side molding rear bumper etc.... but the only thing is i'm not to sure how to take the 90 side moldings off. (smooth). i took a look at my friends hatch cuz he's got his door panels off and i thouhgt there were supposed to be clips the you could remove from the inside and instead there's like this cover over them.....??? i tried just like sliding the fender molding towards the tire to take it off and it did move some but i just don't wanna break those little clips so. any help would be appreciated. thanks.

there are clips on the back, just pull them off carefully or i believe there is a tool you can get to help do this, on the door its the same way i cant remember if there is a screw at the end of it or not so be sure to check for one of the those
