Default Picking up my new Yellow 05 GSXR600 tomorrow!!

i'm psyched out.... I got my bank check in hand and I will pick up my bike tomorrow. I know it'll be freezing as hell, but I will dress as warmly as possible and hopefully bring the bike home w/o dropping crashing it LOL....

My R6 buddies will be riding with me on the way back....

I will snap up some pics when I get home...

Id offer to ride her home for you, but im not going to be home, remember the tire (rear notably) is very slick, bring some 200 grit sandpaper and rub it completely down before u leave, cause u could easily slide out on the smallest/slowest of turns given the tire slickness/temperature. Mike

Keep her in high rpms, dont run her in the lower rpms or let her bog. Change the oil at the end of the day.

From looking at my tack 6k+ looks about right. Just dont be in high gear at 3k and trying to accelerate. Run her to redline a couple times now and then before the 20 mile mark then change the oil.
Ride safe.

if its as cold as you say, maybe its better to break your bike in on a dyno...not to mention its your first bike and just hopping on it and redlining it has potential to just be a bad idea.

can i just redline the bike in neutral??? There is no way for me to go to a dyno now. my mindset on breaking in the bike is just like a car, goin easy on it for a few hundred miles then getting on it harder...

Is that right? I pay less than that a year for full coverage.

when in neutral, there is no load on the motor. same idea as to why a turbocharger doesn't spool just free revving in neutral. you need to be riding the thing to break it in.

riding a bike wouldnt be worth that much to me. $710 a month is a 7Series monthly payment. Screw a bike. lol

I GOT THE BIKE.....

Its in my garage, the ride home was fun and nerve wracking for me, but I did really well...

I took the bike into a residential area to test it out and get aquainted with the controls, then I had to hit the main road in order to go home.....in busy traffic...and this newbie made it home safe...anyhow lemme post some pics
