Default Car doesn't idle well after starting when it's butt crack cold...

First off, it's a 95 Civici w/ a 1st gen. B16A. Nothing done to it that I KNOW-OF internally.

I live in SoCal so it doesn't get as cold as it would in other states. But for the last few weeks, the weather has flucuated between cold/warm/hot. In the morning when it's beyond cold, I notice that it idles horribly after I start it. 98% of the time, it cranks, starts, and then does somewhat of a limp idle as if it's running on 3 cylinders, almost dying from idling so low. Sometimes, the car DOES die because it idles so low.

I do notice that once I give it gas for a few seconds, it WILL idle regularly when the car is cold but a CEL light comes on. At this time, the car is totally drivable. However, no VTEC. If I shut off the car and restart it when the motor is warmed up, EVERYTHING is fine.

What I don't get is why it idles like that when the car is cold. I don't want to go through this process every morning and I need to know what's going on. Can anyone figure this out?

Any help at all is greatly appreciated.

-Thanks in advance.

I would say.....IACV

or, check your seals...maybe, they contract when they get cold, and expand back when it warms up.
