Default How fast is the fastest N/A, full bodied, full interior, street tires, 95-01 Prelude VTEC here?

i have a highly modded n/A GSR and was wondering how N/A modded Prelude VTEC's do in the 1/4 and 0-60.

Not trying to start a fight but I have raced at least two, one moderately modded one and one highly modded one and still beat it...

The fastest NA prelude would be a 4G VTEC not a 5G. I think JG was looking at high 12's or low 13's before the engine went to a better place.

Ohh I never knew that the 4G's were faster...well was that with street tires?

Cuz for me times with slicks mean nothing cuz It cant be recreated on the street on a daily driven basis, unless he's running street slicks.

I used to run street slicks too but the sucked, never got traction from them.

That's on street tires I believe. And I agree times on slicks don't mean a damn thing.

Sounds like to me you are trying to fight... B series motors take a lot less money to get power out of, due to the fact that they don't have FRM sleeves.. it takes about 2.5k to put a decent set of pistons in a prelude..

Screw decent pistons. When I resleeve my engine JE pistons are going in. Only the best. Or maybe JUN. **Laughin starts getting scary ideas**

Thats what I mean, your talking about 500$ for the sleeves, $500 to have them put in, 600$ for the piston's and rings, and that doesn't include the labor to do the engine works.. Trust me, it adds up quickly!

My car is probably at or close to 3k lbs, full interior, complete leather, full stereo, and a 100% street car (so what if she liked race gas). She'll always be that.

I managed a 13.80 @101 before my last few $k of mods. (Before tuning, cams, cam gears, ignition, on bad plugs, 93 octane with only octane booster with timing retarded, VAFC, ECU work and a few other goodies) Yes, that was on regular, stock street radials. Before I shot a few valves down where they shouldn't have gone, it was pulling on mid 13 second Vettes, on street tires, ON the street.

If you want a *true* reliable, non race, "just built to have some fun in" street car, VeeTec's old '93 Prelude (built strong, but mild enough to be reliable) pulled a 13.79 @101mph. Full interior, on street radials.

Anyway... with slicks, I was aiming for 12.99 or better... I was hunting down Lip. But like I said, fate decided otherwise.

5g Prelude Wise I think I'm the fastest: 14.52@96.33mph before I rebuilt the motor with goodies, Now we'll find out what she'll do!

I think it is important to note that VeeTec was able to hit that 13.79s time with only bolt-ons. He had no cams, headwork, or internal work at the time that run was made... He later did get headwork and cams, but he sold that car before he could beat his old best time. He began having issues with the car after the headwork was done.

He had full interior and his car weighed 2760lbs on the track scales.

Not anymore, with limited traction ed-camden ran a 14.43@97.36 m.p.h.

With good traction he should be able to improve that to a 14.2.

He has a 2001 5 speed base model with the following mods.

*AEM CAI
*AEM Tru-Power pulleys
*Mugen exhaust
*Mugen headers
*Apexi VAFC
*OEM body kit

I think he will evenutally hit 13's with bolt ons.

I use to run a 14.52 @ 96.33, not anymore, now the motor is built & balance with all the internal goodies, so I don't car too much for 14s' anymore now it's time for 13s!

vnt, they said that they wanted a full interior car. Your car is NOT FULL INTERIOR. So running 14.5 aint **** with the mods you had when your ran it with a stripped interior. Yes you may be in the 13's but dont count on it. But good luck, you will be in the 13's sooner or later

I'm the guy who ran the 14.43 with i/h/e and VAFC. It took quite a bit of practice to learn how to launch it, but now I have the hang of it . I'm looking for 14 flat with ignition and maybe a high flow cat as well as a warm track surface (as opposed to freezing when I ran the 14.43). BTW, I had a full interior (minus the stock floor mats) and about a 1/4 tank of premium gas. Can anyone claim a better time of a bolt-ons only 5th gen?

Meateater:

My car is semi-gutted., and as far as I'm concerned 14.52 is pretty damn good for I/H/E/V-AFC/Test-Pipe, here in MD, u'll be lucky to find a prelude that can run that around these parts. You don't know me or my car, what do u run? I don't count on anything u have to say, keep ur luck, I don't need it!
