Well, it eventually happened. They managed to get my Alpine amp and CD changer (which wasn't working at the time). They made a nice mess of the interior too, everything in the glove box etc was strewn everywhere. Opening the hood, I expected my Spoon bar to be gone, but I guess they were in a hurry (thank god).
Anyhow, I don't see any visible signs of them breaking in the car, so I'm wondering if these damn cars are that easy to break in? *sigh* This is such a low crime neighborhood too, with little fixed up imports. Also, has anyone disabled their central locking? How hard is it to do? At least next time the bastards won't have it so easy. TIA everyone.

sorry to hear that man, my car got robbed a few weeks ago also. they took my amp, two 12 inch kickers, and a whole lot of other stuff. there weren't any signs of them fools breaking in, but i figure they jimmied it, and you know our f#kin tegs, all the doors open and the trunk open automatically...

Sorry to hear guys...yeah, luckily the battery died (along with the alarm...doh). Anyhow, close inspection just revealed a small 2 mm hole on the soft rubber seal on top of the door. I assume they just poked a clothe hanger in and flipped the power lock switch. Anyhow, I'm disabling that bullshit ASAP.
Funny thought though...my neighbor in a developing country in Asia can leave his Evo VI out on the street and no one will even touch it (the demand for 4G63's is high too). Unbelievable how little respect some people can have...take care everyone.

Prolly jimmied it. You can buy one for $10 online
That or the coathanger....although with the jimmies, and a trained hand, you are done in about 10 seconds or less.

We used to be able to jimmy open my friends '95 Civic with a stick, no joke.
Took us about 30 seconds with a stick, or about 5 seconds with the proper tool.
I park in the garage.

They most likely pried your window open and unlocked the doors using your power door locks switch. Easiest way to stop this is to replace the door handle with an RS door handle since it doesnt have the power door lock switch on there. Or just get an alarm...
are you serious? That sux man.. I went to UC Santa Cruz from 95-99.. that area was like SO low crime.. im actually shocked it happened.. anyway they probably spread the top of your door/window/frame apart with a wedge.. then stuck a coat hanger to flick the power door lock switch.. and then all your doors are open..
you can disable the power door lock switch if you have an alarm with keyless and if you chose you can take your door panels off and remove the rods that move everything.. since you have the remote/power locks. you dont need to move the lock/unlock tab anyway..

Yea dude they pull the window back and then just pull the power lock switch with a jimmy or somthing, they stole mine and didn't leave really any sign except i could see a small scratch above the window, cocksuckin thieves they should all be hung!!!
Lucky they didn't get the car,I've seen them disappear never to be found again, the 1st thing you need is a hood lock, then disconnect the power door locks so it atleast takes them a couple more second to get in!!!I'm bitter as **** over my ride being stolen,I would give a years pay to have the thief that stole my car and torture them, and I'm not even jocking thats the sick thing.

You can't prevent a car from being jimmied. There are only a few cars that are "anti-jimmiable" (sp?) ... one being a Lexus. Easiest way to get into those is to break the back window.
or if they had a professional tool... it goes in through the bottom, as if you were using a normal slim jim, then you pop it up on the inside of the car and hit the automatic door lock switch... its a funky lil contraption and it leave NO signs of forced entry.
all i know is that a conventional slim jim wont work on integras. breaking into one relys on the power door lock. Disable that, and the car can't be broken into without a broken window or picking the lock. I am sure you can disable the switch on the door OR just rip the damn thing off and stick it on the center console and rewire everything. Like they do in the benz's. If you did this and shaved the door locks and handles... even more prevention. Get some hood locks and you are set! No one will go to that much trouble to steal a honda.

Doesn't it seem as thow those power locks were put there so the car could be stolen?I'm not saying they are,its just if they can put 170HP in an 1.8liter how come they can't make a frigin lock switch a little harder to get to,i think my grams who 90 years old could literly get right in.
thats how the AAA guy got into my friends car.. he had a tool that looked like a W kinda... and he went under the window.. then pulled up so the tool would come out on the other side (interior cabin) then used the other end on the inside to flick the power door lock switch...
I wired some relays up to my alarm so that when the alarm is armed, the unlock side of the power lock switche connects to the alarm door trigger wire instead of the power lock relay module.
So if the alarm is armed and someone sticks a stupid coat hanger down into my car and flips the switch, the alarm just goes off and the doors stay locked

Excellent suggestions everyone, I really appreciate the responses. GSRaCeR, I have keyless, so I just pretty much disconnect the mechanism for the switch right?
Btw, does anyone have the url for the site that shows you how to remove the door? I _still_ need to buy a Helms.
Oh yeah, I THOUGHT the area was low crime too...*sigh*. I mean, the town itself is great, people are so friendly, small town atmosphere etc. I guess sometimes you get too relaxed and don't realize that crime is still a very real thing even in a city this small. GSRaCeR, you graduated in 99? I was still a Soph back then, what car did you drive?

whoa serious? you went to ucsc too? I was a college 8 student but lived off campus at North Bay apts (on grandview off of mission).. my car was white.. and im Asian so prolly not that hard to spot considering the low asian population there. .there werent many fixed up cars anyway.. yeah you can either unwire.. or relocate the switch (run wiring to the center console and add a switch) that way you still have use of a power door lock switch.. but its in the center where theives cant get to it from the window... you can also remove all the rods in the door that are used just to move the tab/lock/unlock.. since i had keyless and autolocking alarm. i didnt need to 'see" the lock tab move or move it myself..
WHoA too crazy.. i wonder if I ever saw you around campus.. you probably saw my car.. i would always be parked at the top of College 8 in the 15 minute zones by the Tennis courts.. from the exterior.. you could see a Greddy Evolution series exhaust, that it was lowered, had 5Zigen wheels, thats about it.. hehe..

STI: i would get really paranoid when the lots filled up and i had to leave my car at East remote (ucsc).. that place is bad.. i know a few people who got their foglights stolen, someone stole my car cover there, and emblems.. i thought ucsc was pretty safe.. but never had my car broken into while in santa cruz tho.. i also lived at Cypress points off of Laurel/Felix before.. which i considered more ghetto than Northbay/Grandview apts (off of mission on grandview) .. never had problems with my car there....
haha so im assuming you know the guys at volks cafe.. or have been there before? hehe

hey since you mentioned you had a system.. or it got jacked.. unless i know you.. and dont realize who you are.. there are only a few fixed up integras that i can think of..
is yours the one with the body graphics and your white? and it has like 17" rims?
there was also a white teg w/ a type R conversion front and it had gutted interior (chinese guy) didnt kno him that well..
describe your car. .or post a pic of it.. or private msg me with ur name.. im curious if we crossed paths or sumthing at UCSC..
it cant be the green 4 door thats a gyrl (korean) cuz i knew her..
not the 4 door LS (korean/jap guy) cuz i knew him too.. (and they'd both recognize my s/n)
