My engine ok????? :(
I was gonna ask this question a while back but the car runs fine and isnt throwing codes, so my car being the first honda or manual car I have ever rode in or ownedI thought this is just how they sound, but now Iam alittle worried. First of all after i shift if I completly let off the gas the car doesnt really jerk but you can feel alittle something and the car feels less powerful(sorry this is really hard to explain)but when the foot is on the gas it feels fine. Also the car sound pretty tinny sounding even when it is just idling, Iam pretty sure this is just the car itself and not a problem, and lastly when i rev high the lights on the car get brighter, it isnt anything drastic I can only notice it when I have someone step on the gas and I stand directily infront of the lights, this would most likly be a prob with the alt right? Well any ideas???? Sorry but these problems are kinda hard to expalin. The car does feel fine to drive though. oh anothe thing. I was just sitting in mar car with it in neutral and reving the engine alittle bit letting off the gas I can hear a grumble in the exhaust as the rpms come down??? Thanks for the help

Well my car does the light thing too, this is because the car doesnt have enough power under idle to keep the alt to charge properly.for the tinny noise i have the same problem with my car when i run the cheap gas in it,it is called octane knock, try going to super or plus gas and see if that helps, that will probaly help with all of the other problems you are having.
Okay for the tinny noise I'm sure it's not coming from the engine...if its like
tick tick tick tick tick tick in a rhythm then it's your valves but if it sounds like its loose then I THINK it is the cover of the Catalytic converter. My car makes it too but I'm too lazy to check. My friend had an Integra with the same problem and he just made a little adjustment on it. Now the grumbling sound happens to my civic. I think it is the muffler/exhaust loose in the back or you need new muffler.

If its a slight ticking under idle, then its valves, my car does this, even tho it only has 40k on the clock because of all the high revs.....if its a tinny metal on metal clinking sound when you drive then get under your car and look at the pipe coming off the cat....on my 97 dx, the pipe is like a down pipe and it had a heat shield on it....it rusted and was ratting so i took it off with my friend, it was a bitch to get off, we had to cut it up with metal shiers..
