It takes almost nothing.
Clean out your car, inspect your car for loose stuff. Find a Snell M-95 or better rated helmet, or borrow from the club. Then, autocross!
Hardest part is using H-T search/google/etc. to find an SCCA or other club running autocrosses in your area. That should take 5 minutes.
