For the record again, my final VAFC settings for run 018 were:

Vtec x-over: 4800
Hi cam fuel corrections:
4500 +1%
4800 +2%
5500 +1%
6000 +2%
7000 +2%
8000 -5%
9000 -6%

Do these settings sound reasonable to you guys, considering my mods?

I thought you said you had your Vtec Xover set at 4800? I have mine set there and I am changing it back to stock I lost high end, gained some mid range but I want my high back!

The crossover is at 4800, but only for the red line. The blue and green lines were done without any VAFC tuning (all stock settings).

Midrange is good peak #'s don't mean jack ****. Now if you made 150whp from 6000+ I'd see your point, but if you lost 6whp from 8200-8400 and gained 8 from 4800->6000.................

yea...must be kind of discouraging to those running Toda or Jun cams, headwork and other things and making less power.

I'm at 196/141 with a completely stock type r head and still 1.8L.

What cams do you have? How do your #'s compare? I've seen graphs of toda b's that make only 5 more hp than the graph above. Is that worth the money? I DON'T THINK SO.

Yay, we are all over this peak hp bs. Compare yack's low and midrange to this graph, you will see the difference. Still nice #'s though.

People like yourself crack me up...

YES, even if you gain just 5 peak whp over stock, they are worth the money. What good is a cam if it makes ONLY top-end power? I'd rather have the low/mid than the peak, that way you can suck up those V-8 monsters in the twisties

I am partial to Toda, however, this would be true with any cam for me. If all it did was make more power over 6500ish, then it's not for me

Jason- who's head hurts, thinks a lower vtec xover is in order, and thinks that peak horsepower is the most overrated topic on the board

I don't compare peak #'s. For example, a toda b with endyne pistons here in Vancouver vs 01ITR581:

3000 rpms
75 vs 70

4000 rpms
90 vs 87

5000 rpms
125 vs 115 (hard to tell the #'s are in the way of the lines)

6000 rpms
155 vs 152

7000 rpms
180 vs 178

8000 rpms
195 vs 190

The 10 hp differance at 5000 is the biggest. Are those #'s low (for the spec b's)? I really wouldn't know. But, just by compareing those 2 plots, the cam/piston combo just doesn't seem to make financial sence to me. Sorry if that pisses people off.

I'd be a bit pissed if they printed all the numbers on the dyno chart right across my vtec crossover points!!!!

Did they give you a 100rpm breakdown of hp/tq??? Go back & ask them for it & see if they'll remove the numbers from the middle of your graph.

Nice numbers....
