Default Assembling my Koni shocks

Okay I got my Koni Yellows for my ITR suspension.

Got a few questions.

Mounting the perches. I believe I got them to mount correctly.

The shocks came with 2 thick washers, and 2 thin washers which seem to fit perfectly on the metal tab which is on the shock to adjust your perches. Anyways what I have done is use the 2 thin washers and put those over the metal tabs on the shocks, and then just slid the perch right on that washer. Seems to work fine. The perch is on. But is there some way to lock the perch down? I mean seems like the suspension isn't that solid. I mean the perch itself can move.

Is there some way to lock down the perch? Is the perch suppose to move freely like that?

Also it seems only my front shocks have the option to have adjustable perches. The rear does not. Should I put the the perch down to the lower level in the front? It seem like the suspension will be more even that way.

Also. How do you know what stiffness your shocks are there are no markings.

I dunno if it's me or what, but I'm feeling like I did when I first started working on cars. Confused.

i have the koni reds, and i have adjustablility for the perch in the rear. but about the perch being secure i think think there is any way of locking it down, i dont think it really matters that its not solid like a tokiko or stock shock, as long as the suspenion isnt lifting up and then salmming back down on it. also what springs are you using? cause depending on the spring rate it may get worse the lower you set the perches on the shock. thats the way it is on mine anyways. hope i helped alittle.

I'm gonna be using Ground Controls. Spring rates are: 650 front, and 800 rear.

--->NOPE, unless you make another c-clip that has no groove. you may be able to use an O-Ring to hold them in place, but that is not needed, they will stay down where they are supposed to. now worries my man. they are able to move, but they wont. even with the car unweighted, like when jacked up.. you still have the weight of the springs themselves on the perches.

---? well, no, keep the front on that higher perch. you can lower it later if you want, lowerign is easier than raising when they are assembled and on the car... I would keep it at the top for now unless you have adjutstable springs/coilover sleeves, then might as well go low now. I did and I like it ride wise/travel wise and height wise.

It seem like the suspension will be more even that way.
--->looks (while off the car) can be deceiving.... I would keep it at the top for now. you can always lower it later by jackin' it up and moving the c-clip down. let it settle on you while on th ecar and then make an informed decision.

Also. How do you know what stiffness your shocks are there are no markings.
--> follow the directions (did ya get any?), there are also good directions on KONI's site about properly setting the yellows for rebound and damping separately. There are no marks, but you will feel a bit of a click when you turn them. they can only go so much with light force. I think it is just over one turn from full hard to full soft.
