rear disk conversion
i was was wondering how difficult the rear disk conversion is on my car. 92 EG cx. i have stopping in the rain in a hurry. would like to have that added help. was wondering if it was difficult installation and how expensive it is to do. also if anyone was sellin their set up. lemme know. thanks
hey bro...i dont live too far from you...
i have a 93 dx hatch and just swapped out my rear drums to discs from a 96 GSR. its not too labor intensive actually. as long as you get the complete rear trailing arm, it will swap out the the removal of 5 or 6 bolts......hooking up the e-brake cables can be a little bit of a pain since its all under car......i also swapped out the rotors, pads, and brake lines, none of which are hard and dont take very long...
i did have some trouble bleeding the brakes though and have a new problem of the rear discs making a lot of noise which I am trying to figure out now....
its definately do-able in a weekend though from the labor to trouble shooting any issues.....
I paid about $250-$300 for my setup, that was used rear trailing arms that I just swapped out, plus used brake lines, and new rotors and pads......
look for someone selling the rear trailing arms with rotors, pads, and hub all intact, plus the e-brake cables....
