Default 88 crx tranny on 92-95 engine

I heard a rumor that you can't use a 88 crx si tranny on a 92-95 civic EX/SI motor because they have a different number of teeth on the spindle. Is this true?

you can use the 88 si tranny if you use the 88 flywheel with the 88 clutch setup.

Is the 88 SI clutch larger then the 92-99 clutch? On the ACT website it said it was a 212mm, but I can't see what size the other years clutches are.

Is this the problem?
