So I'm finally ready to get my *** out with the cages and I want you to join me. Ross and I were talking about getting out sometime this weekend despite the appearance of little snow flakes in forecast. As of right now, Saturday's weather looks better... albeit just a wee bit chilly. That said, if you can defrost your ***** long enough to head out with us, we'd love it if you joined.

Given my n00b status I'm going to lobby to keep it as central to Loudoun County as I can while avoiding ubertraffic. Pace may be tenative at first but I don't think it'll be a granny ride. I doubt we'll be out all day, just enough to put on a few miles and get something in before that white stuff comes around. Feel free to discuss times and places if you got ideas.

Also, if you feel like doing some very minor wrench work, I'll be installing (and maybe uninstalling ) my frame sliders Saturday morning. If you want to help out or just watch me curse my bike you're welcome to stop by the house before the ride.

That really depends on who we get and where they're located. If I had my way, we'd meet up at a McDonald's in Leesburg or something... but that may not be the best option for everyone.

Well, I'd like to be done around 3 'cause my holiday party is that night. What time we start really depends on everyone's schedule. Maybe we meet up at like 12-12:30, grab some lunch and then head out around 1?

It depends on where in the mountains you're headed and what you consider mountains. Skyline Drive is about an hour but there are some seriously rural roads as close as 10 minutes away.

 

wll do you plan on hitting the mountains or just cruiseing?

My guess is since it's going to be so cold we won't go out of our way to find the mountains.

Easiest way:
-Route 7 and take the exit for 15N when apporaching the outlets.
-Make left at 2nd light onto Edwards Ferry
-Make left at 1st light into gas station and Mickey D's
