Default My all motor setup

I recently just got my 99 civic si. It is pretty much stock.
I just wanted to hear some opinions on what im planning on doing.

I just ordered a Injen ram air intake, and im going to get a dc sports 4-1 header, and greddy evo exhaust.

My brother was selling his apexi VAFC so i bought it from him. I plan on doing either CTR, ITR or S2S2 cams, i wasnt going to install the VAFC until i got the cams. I know i need beter valve springs, and retainers ( maybe ITR ?).

My question is if get any kind of cams do i automatically need to get better springs and retainers ( if i get the S2S2 of course i need them) and will i have to worry about emisions?

Also when i install the VAFC i know i need to get it tuned but will my car still be a good daily driver? Also does my setup seem right to get all the power i can and still be a daily driver?

There is a big jump from ctr or itr cams to the s2s2. s2s1 are carb legal, as are itr and ctr, so emissions would be fine. if you have daily driver in mind the the itr or ctr cam setup would be ideal. It is recammend to upgrade the valve springs with itr cams, but not always necessary. Some never have troubles, some do, keep in mind, you are taking a risk if you don't upgrade the springs.

thanks for all the info, but if i were to go with the s2s2 cams, i would prolly get cam gears and springs, would i have to worry getting retainers and valves if im planning to increase the limiter to around 9,000rpm?

o yea and are the stage 2 carb legal?
btw what does carb legal mean?

um haha yea your gonna have to upgrade the full valvetrain if you want it to be safe revving that high, i would say go with omniman valvetrain package because i havent heard anything bad about these components..
