Tein flex vs Buddyclub
im planning to go with either the tein flex or the buddy club's.
i just need coilovers that i can run on the street. ive done somewhat research on the flex's and i have planned not to buy the edfc since my car will only be driven on the street. i just need suspension that im able to adjust.
ive asked a friend of mine that owned the flex's he's mentioned this.
------------------------------------------------------------------
i thought they were just cheap. they squeaked and rattled. he mention from his previous setup he had they didnt handle any better. ( koni/eibach, koni/gc.)
----------------another buddy of mine mentioned this. ---------------
the edfc motor did seem to 'turn' and start to 'loosen' itself from the shock. the motor never came off, but it did spin in the 'off' direction. a solution would be stronger thread locker, but because disassembly with the provided thread locker is hard enough.
the pillow mounts seemed to rattle when cold and on hard dips there was a compression/quishing noise which sounded cheap.
---------------i also asked my other friend.-----------------------------
he mentioned that if i was looking for lower priced coilovers, why not buddyclubs.
------------------------------------------------------------------
so my question is to people that have had either the buddyclub or the tein's what do you like about them?
what dont you like about them?
how long have you had them for?
how many miles did you put on them?
has this setup given you any problems?
ive also read somewhere that if you lower the buddyclub's too low that the arm starts to hit.
i really dont plan on going that low, but i just want somthing adjustable, that comes in one piece, a decent price.
feel free to chime in and post your inputs. thanks for you time.

well if you are not going to buy the edfc i would say go with the buddy clubs.. heard a lot of good things about them...... i was first going to go with the buddy clubs, but i ended up getting a deal for the flex that i couldn't pass up.. and also the edfc sort of clinched it for me..... but if you are not going to buy the edfc, then the flex is sort of a waste...... go with the buddy clubs...
I have the Buddy Club Racing Specs on my 2004 S2k.
Best suspension I've ever had.
there's nothing i don't like about them
i've had 'em for 3000 miles, 6 months
never any problems
my tires r tucked and nothing but the dust cover things inside the fenders rub (once in a while when the wheels r turned a lot going up a driveway)
when driving, nothing ever rubs even with the tires tucking
extremely comfortable and handle hella well.

I personally have never rid on them, But from customer feedback and purchases, we see that Buddy-Club seems to be the more sought-after and high-end suspension for the S2000.
Let me know if you are interested in a set, we can get them for a GREAT DEAL!

no prob, anything to help out a fellow s2ker..... by the way.. i read on the s2ki forum that if it wasn't for the money you'd probably go with the flex with edfc.... well you know you don't have to buy them together.. you can just get the coilovers now.. and then later when you got another 300 bucks... you can get the edfc... it's very easy to wire up...if you have any knowhow about wires and connecting them and stuff like that you'll be fine.. shouldn't take you more then ehhh 45 minutes to an hour to install the edfc....

thanks, im pretty sure the coilover install should be cake, the fastest i helped a friend do a complete coilover swap was around 20min. n wiring should be easy since my major is engineering. but ya, im still torn between the two. actually the place i bought my seats from the guy is giving me a deal on these as well. he mentioned that they were the same makers from buddy club.

im really confused right now. right now i think there both good coilovers, buddy club is just stiffer.

i'd go with h&r coilovers, have you looked into those? list is a little under 1500, an authorized dealer should get you them for a little less. h&r makes some of the best multi purpose coilovers in my opinion, you just don't see them that often on hondas. i had a set on my integra and loved them. quality is top notch, dampers made by bilstein, fully rebuildable lifetime warranty.
