On mt ITR when I first start the car the brake light stays on. It eventually goes off after some driving time. Anyone have a clue as to what or why? Thanks in advance.
You are either low on brake fluid or the sensor on the brake fluid resevoir cap is dirty/needs to be replaced.
-Remove cap
-Add fluid as needed
-Clean cap off
-Put cap back on
If problem persists you may need a new resevoir cap.

Mine did the same thing. The problem is most likely the floating piece attached to the cap (sensor).
Just take the cap off and lub up the shaft the sensor slides up/down on with brake fluid.
My light usually goes on in cold weather, but since I've done this it never came back. HTH

This is what I did, but I just jiggled the floater and the brake light went off.
BUT...now my e-brake light won't even come on when the brake is applied.

my brake light was stuck on for a good while on my car, when i took my car in for maint. i told them about it and they said the sensor switch was faulty so they replaced it under warrenty. Just take it in, i think that is a well known problem for our cars
