new crx! died at stop light B16G1, acts up, revs on its own!
Well i just bought my new B16 crx it has a 1st gen motor. Well, if i let it run for ahwile and just sit in the driveway "SOMETIMES" from 750rpm it revs to aobut 2k then drops to 750 like nothing happened..not its not bumping up and down and up and down i know how to fix that. Just revs on its own. Also today i was at a light and it just shot off nice and smooth like i pulled the key out. started right back up but wtf? ground maybe? where all should there be ground for this B16? im not familiar with the B16 in the crx i didnt do the wiring soooo...he has the hasport subharness but doesnt mean he didnt throw it together otr the shop he went to(if he did) threw it together...any ideas?

I have that exact same problem. I am so damn lazy I've driven the car for months and months now with it. Never got around to troubleshooting.

Get a can of brake cleaner or carb cleaner, start spraying it on vacuum lines and your injectors. If it brings the idle up at one certain spot, then I would assume a vaccuum leak. Maybe also check your TPS. - Darrell
well i was out side and the car shut off again. thats where i know its not a vaccum line or atleast doing that part. a for the rev part probably is a vaccum line i'll cahck tomorrow..just sitting out front a bam shuts off and sometimes when im driving its like it studders like it dies for a SPLIT second not enough to shut off just a bump. its not a miss fire its like whole motor shut down. im thinking theres some kind of bad connection. **** it im buying a gsr motor tomorrow and selling this B16. its the wiring job the guy prolly did is why it shuts off..
