Default bought crx, need swap advice

i bought a 91 crx. its stock and ready to be swapped. ive been looking at alot of b16s for nice prices... i also saw a few ls non vtec b18s for like nothing... its going to be an everyday driver... what i want to know is, what is the most straight forward swap for this... and what mods will need to be done to swap in a b16 or ls swap?

I put in an LS swap in my CRX. Here are just a couple things to give you an idea.

The easiest LS swaps are the 90-91 engines, because they are OBD-0 like our cars.
You'll need Hasport mounts.
The shift linkage will need to be shortened some, or buy Hasport's kit.
You'll need 90-93 Integra axles for your car.
Some hammering will be needed to solve slight fitment issues.

There are a few other things I'm sure, but I just got off of work and I don't feel like using my brain right now...

K first you need to figure some stuff out.
What's your budget? How much you willing to dump into the project?
Hf/Dx/Si ?
If Hf/Si plug and play all you'll need is the normal swap stuff: Motor.Ecu.Axels.Motor mounts.Shift linkage.

You need to research your engine that you are about to buy. OBD0 is the way to go if you want to just "drop it in and go."<--not that easy but relative to others it is.

Tranny? Top speed or drag numbers. I got lucky and got a YS1 tranny attached to my B16a.
Wiring. If you're a dx...tough luck gotta do a dfpi->mfpi swap as well. but there are enough people who have done it, you can search and get full detailed diagrams. Hf/Si, just plug everything back into your b16a.
Drivetrain....If you have an hf, you have to swap out the front hubs for the dx/si hubs...it's a pain but get si. bigger brakes to stop all the extra weight.
Suspension is a must. Do it and you'll love yourself.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ls-vtec.....not a master of it...so look around plenty of stuff you can get off of H-T without even asking anything.

Mods: B16a isn't as good for turbo as the Ls...but the b16a could be beefed up and is a little more fun to whip around, b/c it's a higher rev engine. The b16a properly tuned will go toe-to-toe with the LS.
Just remember one thing: Hp is to sell the car Torque is what will move it.

good luck...and DO ALL YOUR RESEARCH.....don't start the project until you are ready to give the car up for a reasonable amount of days...Set aside an extra 1000$ for emergencies...

The most straight forward swap is a zc motor..dohc zc,sohc zc,sohc vtec zc..
Bolts in and you can use your stock tranny..
If you have a dx you will need to convert to mpfi..
For a b-series swap you'll need
Motor mount kit..(Hasport,place racing,Aznrae machine mounts,etc)..
Either modify the shift linkage or buy a hasport linkage made for the b-series swap
axles..(90-93 teg non-abs axles and intermediate shaft..)..or you could get hasport axles..
Also you have to make a dent in the inner fender to make clearence for the alternator..
if you have a dx you must use hf/si hubs..
If you get a sir1 b16a swap. you'll have to add the 4 wires for vtec
If you get the non-vtec b18 you should get the 90-91 since its 0bd0..
92-93 are obd1 and make 140hp instead of 130hp and you would either have to convert your car to obd1 or convert the motor to obd0..
If you get a 94-01 it will have a hydro tranny which you wont be able to use without converting to a hydro set-up..Hasport makes a cable-hydro kit....
Or you could just get a cable b-series tranny....
Lots of other **** to get the motor in..Search..

if your just going around town, you'll appreciate the b18 more, since its more of a torque motor. the b16 will be nice and fun with its upper end/vtec, b18 is nice for boosting down the road, while b16s are still nice with boost, but the b18s nicer.

If you are starting out with DPFI, you will need an injector resistor from the Si model as well.
