Default Quick Valve Cover Paint Question...?

I am currently painting my valve cover, I have high temperature primer, but the color i am painting my valve cover doesnt have high temperature paint, so i bought regular kind, i am also planning on putting high temperature clear coat so it is sandwhiched, but i do not have the clear coat right now, do you think it would be okay to use for a day or maybe two?

thank you

A few years ago I painted my valve cover with plain old auto primer, then used automotive spray paint, about 3 coats, and a regular clear coat. It held up fine for a few years, before I had it powdercoated.

I hear clear coat turns yellow after a while. I've also heard that you don't have to use the high temp paint, but you will need to use a high quality paint. Like $2.50 a can. Good luck and post pics.
