I just don't like the idea of contributing to people - usually young people - doing dumb stuff to and with street cars.
A friend of mine back in Washington sold a Rabbit autocross car with a cage, seats, and harnesses to a kid, who promptly killed himself and a friend with it, sporting in the hills near Seattle. The State Patrol made some pointed inquries back to the seller during its investigation and needless to say, my bud was scared shitless, having sold the thing thinking the same way as has been suggested here - that it's up to the buyer how he uses it. It worked out in the end but...
In my case, I sold some seatbelt mounting hardware to a guy who claimed he was building a racing car but the questions I got after the sale made it pretty clear that I had helped him take the OE belts out of his street car and engineer some half-assed rig that he was playing with on public roads.
If Sean wants the pins for a MR2, I could do that since even if the lid does open, it won't put him into a ditch somewhere. Email me if you want it, Sean. (I will need to see the rollcage stamp in your "documentation," though.)

PS - the hub is taken, pending payment.

You never know, it could end up causing me to crash.
I could be ripping through the m4dd tite cany0ns of suburban Cleveland when I spin backwards, the pins fail, the engine lid flips up and the drag causes my car to get airborne and go into the trees, like that Mercedes CLR at Le Mans.

Sean Its fair game with no cops in cleveland
Knestis I am curious what has happend to your friend, did get into any trouble or just questioned? I have had quite a few kids approach me about my cars (Who think they are "fast furious"), but have made it totally clear what they are used for and what is legal on the street. You can Pm me so you don't get off topic on your thread here

A little arrogant, don't you think? Some people drive modified cars on the street. You think your parts are too good for them or something? If my car isn't "logbooked" I'm not cool enough to buy your parts?

It is just his personal preference.....no big deal. I hardly think it is a point to argue over the internet.
Good prices Kirk.

It's called "responsibility." I'm sorry that you don't get it.
My friend was questioned, there was a suggestion that perhaps he would face criminal precedings, but those never happened. The biggest fear was that he would see civil action by the families, since the SP had made such a big deal of his "involvement." All he could do was cross his fingers and wait but, as of several years later, nothing had happened.

Edit - I've changed my mind about Sean. No soup for you.

I just don't understand. For what? If I *legally* sold you 3 kitchen knives and you decide to juggle them in your backyard instead of cutting (animal) meat with them, the happiness or pain this may bring you, well it's *your* happiness or pain, not mine. I don't want to go off topic, but this concept boggles my mind, and I might learn something new too.

It's called an excessive proliferation of lawyers, Alex. In a country where you can be successfully sued by someone who injures themselves while in the process of breaking into your home, anything is possible. It is always someone else's fault, and everyone is a victim.

Gotta agree with you there. Whether or not it's fair or makes sense isn't the point, unfortunately.
<---Almost got sued for a guy backing into me and cracking his bumper. WTF?

well i wouldn't sell my racecar to some kid who was going to try and turn it back into a street car... so i guess the same logic can go for racecar parts...

Some people also drive like morons on the street.
Why put logbook in quotation marks? It's a pretty standard procedure for race kaa's. Been around since the begining of time, I'm pretty sure.
Don't be an ***. If he doesn't want to sell to you because you use the car on the street, that's his perogotive.
Hunter, I was wondering if we could talk about renting your H1 Car out for the l337 m1dnigh7 dr4gs @ t3h stripmall?
