Low fuel rev limit???
Hey guys,
My brother is in the market for an s2k. He recently took one out for a test drive with a salesman and naturally tried reving it out. The limiter kicked in at about 7000rpm. The salesman indicated this was normal when running with low fuel (I assume the low fuel light gauge was on). After pulling into a gas station and re-filling, the car would rev out to the normal 9000rpm.
I've not heard or read of this feature/limitation anywhere before and was just wondering if this is standard or whether the salesman is hiding a more sinister problem?
Cheers
Mike

Its not low fuel. I worked at Honda fo 18 months, they will tell anything to save there ***. Most of the sales people dont know what they are talking about when it comes to a s2k. The RPM cut is because the car was not warm yet. The s2k hase a 2 stage rev lim. One a 6200 and one at 9200. The 6200 is its safe mode
its not that the engine itself was cold, it due to oil temp and pressure, if the ecu doesnt sense prpoer oil temp and pressure it wont engage vtec

it's water temp chief, not oil temp/oil pressure in this case.
