OK let me start by saying i drove the car all day today and it was fine.
i went to eat with the parents, when i left the resturant and started driving the car this is the problem that started to occour out of the blue.
when the car is in gear and ROLLING 20+mph the whole front end shakes left to right really hard. I also hear a noise " thud thud thud thud thud" as the wheels spin
1) checked lug nuts all are TIGHT.
2) I checked the tires, tires are fine.
3) when I am driving in gear and put it in neutral and let it coast , the problem persists.
4)put in in neutral at 20+mph and turn enging off problem still persists.
now ..i put the car in the air "jackstands" and pulled and tugged on the DRIVER SIDE axle " no movment nice and tight"
when I tugged and pulled on the PASSANGER SIDE AXLE IT HAD ABOUT A 1/4 INCH PLAY. I ask a couple friends they said that was the problem. something about a CLIP OR something breaking to hold axle in
do you guys think its the axle?
when i was under the car i also noticed this hole on the bottom of the tranny looks like it was ment to be there.. does your tranny's have the same hole?????????? at first i thought all the tranny fluid came out but the whole looks like it was factory made... please helppppp

thanks for all your help

That hole is normal.
Your problem sounds just like the problem I had when I broke an axle at Gingerman last year.
And for the record -- it's where's the Goose.

As for the shake, did you test the wheel bearings?</TD></TR></TABLE>
yeah...try to test for play in wheel bearings..... tug\pull the tire toe-wise and camber-wise and check for excessive play.

Try driving in circles at full lock in a parking lot in both directions and see if you hear/feel anything.

tugged and pulled on the wheels .. no play they are good.
i am having the car towed to a machanic in the morning "he is a ex-honda mechanic" he works on all my R's hopefully this will all be resolved tommorrow.
he said it sounds like the axle just as MUGEN MIKE said

i broke an axle earlier this year. i jacked the car up and with the car in neutral i spun the wheels buy hand the passenger side spun free but the driver side would have a small bind in it every so often. so i spun the passenger side with one hard spin and got almost three rotations out of it, i did the same to the driver side and got a little over one spin. once i drove the car home and check the drive side axle, since thats the side that didnt spin frrely that was the axle that was bad.

UPDATE
car has been fixed.
its seems that the inner axle joint assembly binded up and took a crap on me.
my friend had a extra inner joint on a broken axle he had laying around.
problem solved.

the axle as a whole piece is still fine and still intact.
it was the inner joint on the axle that went bad.
81k on the car.
