the si engine has 160hp, plus the si is heavier than an integra....so I would think that the si engine would be better than your ls

lets not jump to conclusions on which Si motor it is... could be an older civic Si that were hatches or even a CRX Si, and neither of those were that powerful of an engine and not worth the hassle to swap

Take your engine, And the SI taht you buy for 600, sell them both for about 2000 in one then get a B18C1 and the ownage begins!

Arent the other si engine D series with less than 140HP less displacement, and less TQ? If he wasted my time with a post about that I vote for a ban!

A lot of people like the TQ from the LS engine. The B16 has no TQ and if you pair it up to your LS tranny I dont think your car will be any faster because the LS tranny cant keep B16 engine on the big cam.

First, you have to find out if the engine is the D16Y8 or D16Z6, the older Civic Si engine I think -> 120 hp, sohc. Or is it the B16A, 160 hp, dohc? Don't bother with the D-Series engine; your's is better. If it's the B16A, find out if it is JDM or USDM, if you can smog it, and if it's street legal in your State. I think that that the B16A would be lighter (I could be wrong though) and it would definitely be worth it unless you're going to turbo later on. You could probably sell your LS engine for $500...
Good luck.

theres no torque on the si engine. just get a gsr engine. get the 92-93 gsr engine.

I like this idea.

And although the B17 would be the easiest swap, it'll take you a long time to find one cause of the limited production of G2 GS-Rs.

if its a b-series. then sell the rest of the swap and slap the b16 head on and go LSvtec... wont be dissapointed. and i would NEVER down grade from a 1.8 to a 1.6. it just doesnt make sense

which SI are u talking about that has 160hp? and which SI engine did the thread mentioned?

how about give me some more infor such as SOHC SI or DOHC SI b16a, 1, 2, 3, or D16z6

dont just jump in and assume thread post SI engine has 160hp....with 600 it aint' going to be B16 for sure...i think thread poster was talking about the D16z6, if it really is D16z6
