no AC its a drag car but the big empty holes in my dash were just kinda bugging me...

kewl....imo you should have mounted them from the inside so that it looks cleaner

I wanted to do that but its a bitch to make nice clean cuts on carbon fiber and I suck at it (I tried) so I decided to go with aluminum which is almost as light and is of course used for the interior in lots of drag cars.

 

you don't need clean cuts if you mount if from the inside....it will be hidden in the pocket

I considered that but the inside part is not flat...

I dunno I think it looks awesome the way it is it turned out way better than I expected. I'm really stoked on it

from inside the car.

i removed all my climate control **** as well.
climate control hole holds a lexan piece with my boost gauge.
radio DIN hole holds a ford cup holder/coin tray.
passenger side a/c vent is blocked off with a piece of lexan that i cut to shape and heated to warp to the contour. painted it with bed liner spray to give it a nice semi-gloss texture (looks very good, like the gauge plate).

i will be making 2 seperate blockoffs for the 2 center vents, and another for the driver a/c vent. and the top a/c vent will be holding 2 gauges or just a blockoff. and i'm considering doing something w/ the passenger airbag considering that i removed the SRS unit completely.

u should mold them in w/ alittle filler then sand and paint it flat black or somehtin, would look sick all one thing

I don't really like them. As mentioned before would've looked alot better in CF or atleast mount them from the inside. Also it does sort of look goofy to go to the extent of blocking off your AC vents but still have a CD player in there. If you're that hardcore and it's a "racecar" you should toss the CD player too. Not like you listen to the radio when you're at the track.

 

its not attached only hooked up with two cables... it's quick release y0!

I drive the car to the track. It has one door speaker only on the passenger side. I listen to it on the way then take it out at the track it takes about 20 seconds...

 

you take the cd player out and youre like OH ****, WAY FASTER
