I have a 94 prelude with the digital gauges. i was wondering what bar (out of 7) is normal operating temp. my car is running at the third (middle) bar is this normal, because I would think being a honda and all it would run much cooler.

why would you think just because its a honda that it runs cool. And yes your temp sounds normal

Because Honda water boils at a higher temperature than normal water. Duh...

 

Most/all Preludes will run exactly halfway on the stock gauge. It sounds like you are OK.
