Default Automatic B-series motor into manual EF

Are there any physical differences between a B-series automatic motor and a B-series manual motor? Are the engines designed the same way?

A local has offered to sell me an automatic integra and I want to know if I can use the motor out of it? If this happens, I plan on using the close ration b16 transmission with a limited slip differential. Can anyone forsee any problems in doing this?

The motor is the same but the cams are teh suk and it's got shitty valve springs You'll want all that out of there if you want to do anything.

The motor will match up to a manual transmission with no problems, correct?

The engine mounts the same, and all the wiring is the same, correct?

Yeah, my friend has an auto B16 in his integra with a manual transmission, everything is the same. Like I said though, the cams are weaker, and it's got single valve springs on the exhaust side, so before you try to rev any higher or put better cams in, you should at least put an ITR valvetrain in there. The motor bolts in exactly the same though. Of course you'll need the flywheel and clutch if it doesn't come with it, but thats it.

That's exactly what I needed to know, thanks.

You make no mention of exactly what kind of B-series motor you are talking about. But if it is a USDM Integra, there is one thing to consider: The automatic LS motors use a different intake manifold. Specifically, it has provisions for EGR. You want to get rid of this. But I am not sure about cams in a non-VTEC motor. As for using a manual transmission, you just need to get the flywheel and clutch to mate it up.

The motor I'm speaking of is a B18a. I've heard about the intake manifold differences, but I wasn't sure.
