The new azenis do look stickier, but they probably perform a whole lot better in the rain or snow then the older azenis . . .

Why would you use either in the snow??? They're summer tires. Snow isn't even a design consideration for them, and they certainly don't have an M+S rating.

I don’t know if I like them or not. The old sports really grew on me. The tread pattern looks cool. I want to see how they perform.

So does this mean that the old Azenis will be discontinued? Or will Falken offer them side by side?

It looks like it'll be a tad bit quieter

I'm glad for that. I don't really like the new ones so much. I mean Azenis were never intended for wet traction.

Most important to least important:

1. Dry/wet performance
2. Price
3. Looks

I have autocrossed mine in the pouring rain. I was pleasantly surprised at how well they worked.

In standing water, I have heard they hydroplane easily but my personal experience doesn't reflect that either. Now that I am past half tread maybe it will become more of an issue.

The new one looks to address the hydroplane resistance, but as usual I am baffled by their tire selection size. No love for the 16"'s, just like the old one.
