I've seen a 96-98 Civic Coupe Type R from Japan. I don't know if it ever made it into production, but it was a definite possibility. RHD and everything that the normal Civic Rs have and CW paint only. But other than that, I don't know if they made any coupes.

 

As far as I know, there isnt any coupes in Japan. Only hatches and 4doors. The coupes are imported to them from either honda of america or of canada.

 

ek4's were only HB's SIR II which came with a b16a6 and y21 tranny
Coupes were EJ's from 92-00 except SI's which are EM's

 

the coupe type-r (iv seen the picture as well) i dont think was from japan... but another rhd country... not sure what though

 

I thought that australia was the only other country to get the coupe??

 

Coupes were available in Japan, I know I live here and have lived here for the past 8.5 years! The EG style was an EJ and the EK style was a EJ as well. It is very rare, so rare that I haven't seen any here on Okinawa, but the EG look style I see everyday! The EK4 is the SiR/SiRII hatch and Si/SiII sedan. HofJ didn't differentiate between the hatch and sedan on the labeling between the 2 as they have in the past.

okay, if there are coupes in japan... what badges do they have on them. I know the 4doors are badged Ferio, but what badges does the 92-95 EJ1 coupes have?

i knew a guy from Taiwan and he told me that there are not any coupes sold in the orient by Honda dealers, only grey market ones that are imported from other countrys. also, the coupe is made in the US.

 

If there is ANY truth to the CTR coupe theory, could someone post a pic or a link??? This is something I've never heard of.

 

Huh? Then how do I have a USDM '96 Civic EX COUPE manufactured by American Honda?

 

The JDM 4 door with a B16A is called a Ferio, I know that!

 

No DOHC in the coupe, but they have them in the sedan and hatch............weird.

 

hey, if you see a few coupes there please snap me a couple pics so i can see the differences. I've seen a RHD coupe here in the states and the owner told me it was imported from new zeland, the funny thing is that it has a B16A from the factory. weird huh?

Hey how's it going. Well I was going for sure this year but guess what, I got another damn speeding ticket, this one cost me ¥70000 ($560). So my trip to TAS was once again spoiled by my own doing I am definitely planning on the MotoGP at Suzuka in April. I should definitely still be here, so if you really plan on coming next year, I will plan on attending as well. As long as my brick foot can lay off the accelerator I should be able to go! Don't forget the Osaka show is also decent size and it falls in February, usually the second weekend of the month. Also if you do go, try and drag Tony along for the ride.

Awesome Chris, I think I would plan to go with ceas anyways, see how fast we get thrown in jail in Japan . Filling out my passport application before I go back to school to make sure all is good to go!
