Lifetime alignment for $139.....ok?
I need a alignment for my Integra, which usually cost me $60 a pop (12month, 12k mile warranty...not too bad) but was offered a lifetime alignment for $139. The deal was tempting but my Integra is a 94gsr with 133k miles. I thought about it but after looking at my car and the mileage....I had second doubts. What do you guys think? Go for the lifetime for $139 or just a one time alignment at $60 a time? My car is stock and is used as a daily driver. This is the first alignment needed on the car since new.
ive owned 3 different cars over the last 5 years, never had one allignment. unless yur car has a bad habit of drifting alot, and even after getting fixed keeps drifting, they are just taking yur money. just get one
I went ahead and got it for my car. I'm gonna have to live with it for 4 more years at the least, so I figure I'll take advantage of it. At any time you can just walk in and have them do an alignment. Depends how long you're going to have the car.
u mean as in vehicle? if not, they have no way to tell otherwise, ie, springs, shocks, tires or rims...those 16 year olds cant remember what u had on there the last visit

I agree with this......
but I went with the lifetime warranty. Decided that it was about the price of 2 1/2 alignment and I know I'll need at least one more before the car dies or if I plan on selling it. I was kind of shock though to find out that all 4 wheel were out of specs today after getting the alignment done...

I went with the lifetime alignment package at Firestone. Though they can't adjust camber, they can still adjust the toe and caster.
Even though my car is only lowered .75", I out of spec every time I get my car aligned (~ every 6 months)

If your car is lowered or modified (suspension) then go with the lifetime alignment. I did but you might run into some probs if:
1. you mod your suspension after you get it, it could either void it all together or they will charge you a one time fee to "reinstate" your lifetime policy (it usually is the cost of one regular priced alignment), I had this happen to me even after they said "It doesn't matter if you mod your vehicle!" - those buys lie just to get your money
2. In some cases they do not do a full alignment: either only 2 wheels, thrust angle only, etc. make sure you READ exactly what you are getting with your specific policy.
3. Some contracts only allow you so many alignments per month/per certain amount of miles
4. At some places, if you have a lifetime alignment policy they will either treat you less favorably or they will tell you "we don't have time for you today" which is usually a bunch of BS!
Overall: make sure it is a place you have been to before and would go to again and make sure you know EXACTLY what is IN the contract, not what the guy trying to SELL YOU says it is!

You have to be careful with lifetime alignment plans.
I got one for $100 at NTB and found out that a minor change like tie rod ends
will void the warranty and you only get an alignment every 6 months up to a year.
I then got a lifetime warranty at Firestone for $120 and after changing out
my front upper control arms, found out that although they will honor the agreement, they will make you wait and not do as good a job as they would for other customers. As a result, I'm still driving my car with the steering wheel about 5 degrees off center because they never fixed my alignment problem. Read the
fine print or you will be sorry.
