i'm getting ready to get a 91 Integra. cheap. but something is wrong with it that really concerns me... when it rains really really hard, water leaks from under the dash... does anyone have any idea where its coming in from, and how hard is it to fix... please let me know...

i have seen some cases where the entire dash has to be taken off to hunt the source of the leak down

 

I beelive it is one of those rain gutter things and it normally gets the passanger side wet. I keep hearing about this happening. Its some hose that gets loose that is sort of where the wiper motors are under that black pannel. From what I hear its pretty cheap to replace and you also just seal it up wiht some silicone. You can check on the g2ic site I think there are more posts about it.

 

It can either be a leak through the cowl, which can be sealed with silicone, or it can be a leak from the Air conditioner evaporator housing, there is a tube that runs from that out the firewall that can get plugged. Neither is a very big deal, and if that is the biggest problem with the car you should go for it.

 

on the front of the windsheild there is a plastic cover where the hood meets the windsheild ..where that plastic part screws down inside the screw holes there are little plastick washers that go bad from wheather and things of that nature u can get them from the dealer for like a dollar i replaced mine and that problem was fixed...i hope this helped a little
