How to Remove Dashboard in 2000 Honda Accord coupe
I recently bought a 2000 Honda Accord and the Tach, idles below zero and a mechanic told me to replace the Tach and it would be fine. But, I need to know how many clips there are on the dashboard so I don't dammage it any more. It has a hole drilled cut into it for an after market Tach but no Tach.
You should consider buying a Haynes manual or a similar brand. Those things have all the answers for stuff like that and usually include some helpful pics. Well worth the $15 at your local autozone or where ever. Just a thought.
are you talking about the factory tach in the gauge cluster? you don't have to remove the dash to take that out.

Exactly, don't remove the whole dash. You just need to remove the bezel around the cluster and then the cluster from the dash. You may have to remove some other small items but nothing major. Once you have the cluster out of the dash just take it apart and replace the tach.

remove 2 screws on top of the bezel... then just pull out. 4 screws hold in the gauge cluster. once the screws are removed, tilt the cluster forward (top towards you) to unplug the 3 electrical plugs. pull out the gauge cluster... after that the clips (and screws if you a V6) to take apart the cluster itself are pretty self-explanatory.
