I dont know if this is the right forum, but does anyone know if you could use the front bumper from an 02 accord coupe on an 02 accord sedan??
I keep hearing different things.

Without having to buy one and try it, I would like to know the answer to this as well.

you can, but you'll need to get the hood from the coupe too.

I think hood is the same. Bumper mount is different because the different grill holes.

So you would need to replace the fender too then? If you are saying that the hood is longer, then wouldn't the sedan fenders be replaced with the coupe fenders?

Anyhow, can someone with personal experience reply. Every time this 6th gen accord bumper exchange question is asked someone always says something based on reasoning and theory, but nobody with experience has ever replied.

The bumper from from the 98 - 00 coupe is nicer than the 01 - 02 coupe. I think anything can be done with some slight midification i.e. drilling new holes and adding some fiber glass. I wish someone would say that replacing bumbers works and it looks flush. However, I don't think that's the case.

the fenders are the same... the part of the hood that is longer is where the hood meets the grill of the bumper.

actually, i might have it backwards... the sedan hood might be the longer one... can't remember now. either way, one hood is about an inch longer in the middle only, to match up with the front upper grill of the bumper, but the fenders are the same.

Nice!

So it has been done. It looks flush.
I PM'ed him about some questions regarding fitment, and if he replies I let you know. It appears to be a sedan fender with a side blinker installed, and I think the bumper is from a 01-02 coupe.

As promised. Here is the reply from Ken.

"It's not perfectly flush. But I had to get the bumper support and the coupe hood. There's a big gap between the bumper and the hood but I still don't know why."

Thanks for the info.

Bionic,

I can make you a hood to fit... retrofit CF civic hood. And side skirts too if you want. I can bring over the 4x4 and draw it out for you. Let me know.

From a sedan to a sedan? From the readings I have done, they are interchangeable, how do they look different? I know that the 98-00 and 01-02 coupe bumpers are different but how are the sedans different from each other?

lower grill on 01-02 sedans is wider, and painted. 98-00 is smaller and black. upper grill on 01-02 has two lines going across, whereas 98-00 only has one.

So what does that mean? Are you saying that any front bumper [sedan & coupe] should be interchangeable as long as they are from the same year i.e 98-00 and 01-02?

TIA
