Whole setup cost me less than $30 bucks. I opted for the larger can at Home Depot. Much larger collection can and a lever on bottom to drain. I ran a hose to the bottom of the car so that I can drain it into the bucket each time i change my oil.

^^^ For a full minute I thought the 7UP can was part of the setup. I was looking hard in the second picture for it. I thought it was ingenious!

Then I realized you used it for a size comparison.

to me.

"If you're lazy, broke, and don't care about emissions you could just remove the PCV valve and route the hose out of or underneath the car and put a filter on the valve cover."

does this basicly do the same princple? i think im going to do this...

So let me see if I have this right. The catch can would go inbetween the PCV valve, which is in the middle of the valve cover on an LS motor, to the top of the intake manifold. Also on the LS there is another outlet on the far left hand side on the valve cover that runs to the intake tube. You do not need a catch can here...correct??? Just between the PCV and the IM........ thanks

ok, here is a pic. if the pcv is the thing on the valve cover than what is the thing in the intake manifold called?

The thing i want to do is add a hose to there 2 locations and add hoses to a small tank located on underneath the car. so can anyone show me where these 2 locations are?

do i have to remove the PCV valve to do this? and how do i remove the valve??

it relieves pressure in your block by taking vapors and gasses from your crankcase and filtering oil and **** out of them, then puts the air back into your intake

do not set up your catchcan like that. it needs a vacuum source. plug the hole in your intake mani where the pcv goes. run a hose from the pcv and from the valve cover breather to one side of the catchcan. (keep the pcv valve between where it originally comes from the motor and the catchcan). the other side of the catchcan should be plumbed back into the intake. it needs a vacuum source.

i am not totally sure how necessary it is on a non boosted setup, but im sure it cant hurt. plus this way you can tell if you are getting blowby, by draining the catchcan and seeing if any oil comes out.

http://www.roadraceengineering.com has a black catchcan a tiny bit smaller than a soda can for 49 bucks. i bought it for my old turbo civic, and it worked fine

i think im going to do this... can anyone tell me if this works...

1. plug the nipple the pcv conects to from the valve cover, screw a fitting in there and a add a hose aimmed down and out of the car

2. add 2 vents on the valve cover, screw in fittings and just leave them like that and let them flow into the atmosphere

The correct way to set up the catch can is to route from the pcv to the can to the IM. The Cusco one adds a feature for the oil to drain back into the block.

That's the most retarded thing I've heard. Read the previous posts. DO NOT let **** vent to atmosphere.
