I'm trying to decide between 205/50/15 and 225/45/15 R compounds, but am concerned about fitment. I've got 4 brand new 15x7 +31 wheels in the garage waiting for tires. Will I have problems with rubbing with the 225/45/15's on those wheels on a 96 Civic Hatchback?

You'll probably hit the outside of the tire on the fender with that offset. The 225/45-15's fit on my car just fine with +40's.

 

Yeah, that was my fear. Think I'd have the same problem with 205/50/15's?
