The brushes inside the motor are probably worn out..
Sometimes you can tap on the motor case and it will start working.

its the blower motor resistor located on the bottom of the blower motor unit secured by two screws, connected to the wiring harness. The connection material on the coils is probably broken. The part number is 79330-sh3-003, retail is about 33.77.
My blower motor started doing this recently as well.
When it's cold outside nothing happens when I turn it on. Nothing at all. I wiggle the switch a few times back and forth and eventually it'll work.
I have another problem....my blower motor doesn't work on setting #1. Only 2 and up. Is this part of the same problem?

Occasionally [not sure if it's temp related or not], my blower motor along with my radio and cigarette lighter will just shut off all at once. Sometimes it comes back on on it's own in like 20 minutes, but if I turn the ignition switch off then on, everything comes back on. Weird huh? When it does turn off though, there is an audible click like a relay opening somewhere under the dash. There is absolutely no shoddy wiring in my car, so I doubt it's something the previous owner rigged in there.
its the combination switch (electrical pigtails on the ignition combination switch, part the goes from the key ignition the the fuse box) the part number is 35130-sh5-505. It retails for about 65.58. I had the same problem on my accord replaced the electrical portion of it back to new.

i dont see how any of u guys had the guts to replace the blower motor i just ripped all of my a/c out (turbo charger also forced me to do so). theirs like noooo room to take it out, dash would have to be taken up some in order to get it out
You dont have to rip anything out of the car the resistor is completely accessable. Lie on your back on the passenger side and look up, worst case you may have to remove the 2 8mm screws that secure the glove box in place. ahhhhhhhh HONDA-TECH
