What's Best 15 x 7 w/ 225's or 15 x 8's w/ 205's ?

What's Best 15 x 7 w/ 225's or 15 x 8's w/ 205's ?
In keeping with my pledge not to prematurely wear out my M Coupe at DE's I just recently purchased Don Culver's 95 Integra GSR to use as my dedicated track car at NASA events next season.
His car came with a set of 15 x 8 wheels and a set of 15 x 7's. He said the 15 x 8's could only be used with 205's.
Which is better in regards to track duty? 15 x 7 with 225/45 or 15 x 8 with 205's.
I was under the impression that 205's wouldn't even fit on an 8 inch rim but Don says they will.
His car comes with spacers (don't know but suspect they are 10 mm).
