Where does the "R" come from?
Type R(raceP from honda's racing heratige, It designates the car as a factory race car, like Type S(sport) is a Sport Tuned car from the factory...
Or at least that is what it means to me

As a young child, Mr. Honda was playing in his mashed potatoes one day and made the letter "R" with his fork in the style font that you see today. Since that famous supper, all of his high performance cars carry that letter and he won't eat mashed potatoes because his mom spanked him for playing in his food.
lol, R means race. Simple as that. Font was probably made by marketing types.

Sorry, thats not what I meant. When you look at the Honda Type R Sticker on a true Type R, notice how the letter R is written. Where did that style of writting the letter R come from?

ACTUALLY, originally, when the NSX Type R came out, the 'R' stood for 'reduced weight' not 'race'...
although since then the 'R' has been popularly construed as standing for 'race'
