Default Checking out '00 LS

Well my Accord crapped out and I got rid of it, and the ex now has the civic, so I'm in the market for a nice daily driver.

Found an '00 Teg LS, Silver, 5spd, Fully loaded I believe except for spoiler (not sure about leather).. color is silver..

About 75,000 miles and the asking price is $9,990 and it is a certified vehicle at a reputable dealership. They said they'd be willing to negotiate a deal, and I'm going to test drive it right now actually.

Just wondering what you guys think. If they could go down to $9k or so I'd probably take it. KBB is higher.

Odds are that they paid $7k for it, as that is the KBB trade-in value. Even if you give them $8k they will still make a grand, so you might as well see how low you can go. Start them at $7500 and go up from there. Dealers make a lot of money off of used cars. Are there any comparable cars in the area that you can use as bargaining chips?

I'd try and talk them down. I got mine for $9k. It's a 99 and only had 54k miles on it when I bought it. It was a private sale though, but nontheless you should still be able to talk them down.

I'll try to talk them down, but thats the thing that I like is that its at a good dealer and I'll get a warranty. My mom is gonna help me with a loan (cosign probably) and she's definitely interested in this car, so we'll see what happens. Leaving the house in about 5 minutes to check it out.

Thanks for the tips.

Well that was a waste of time. Test drove it and it seemed decent but the guy would not budge on price AT ALL. He said they really wanted $13,000 for it but he would give it to me for $9,990 and thats a special deal. Yeah ok buddy.

So I walked. Maybe if they call I'll work something out, but not for $10k .. hell no.
