DA Gauge Placements... where is yurs???
i have a 92 teg and i am in need of some ideas on where to place my gauges...kinda sick of the pillars... so wondering if any guys with da's can show some pics!!!!
i dont' have any pics, but i've seen some in the glovebox, some in place of the two center vents, and some custom made panels that hold them under the head unit and some in the cubby in the center console.
damn... is their any way u could get pics???
i am thinkin bout placing my 5 gauges along my shifter console pointed up at me... i have individual gauge gauge holders so im wondering if it would work...

You should find a wrecked DA and pull the shifter console out and experiment. Seriously, experimenting ideas like this on wrecked parts is the **** - If it looks good, either throw that one on or do the same to yours. If it doesn't, your shifter console doesn't look like ****.
Anyway, I've seen gauges all over, some above the rearview mirror looking down at you, in the little change cubby, on the right and left edge of the gauge cluster, or custom mounted to a panel that fits in one of the DIN slots (if you don't have the factory stereo). Experiment! Post up what you do too, I'm curious about my gauge placement in the future, too.

yeah for sure... i will def post my ****... as soon as i get the gauge holders in the mail... i actually have a totalled teg in my garage with extra parts, so im gonna experiment on those for now... cuz knowing me, i always **** up the first time.
You can sometimes find carbon fiber panels on e-bay, about $20 for a 8x12. you can cut this up and make a really cool gauge holder that you could mount just about anywhere. I have allways liked the idear of the gauges in the glove box. Looks good for show. I would put the important gauges in plain sight, and the less important one in the box....just one idea

o and the reason i did this is cuz im sick of a pillar gauge mounting... it is gettin old... and i dont want people to see what i have anyways
its nice but i dont like the gauges on the right side of that.. i mean you need to keep your eyes on the road, and checking the gauges to make sure everything is working properly, will require you to look down.. and alot of **** happens for 1 second going 40mph.. you should of kept them by you closer so you can check them out at a quick glance..
i would of put 2 or 3 on that plastic part that covers the ignition, up top like the wrx's.. then have 2 or 3 right there in that small dip where the clock is.. then maybe re-wire the clock or retro it into the gauge cluster on the dash..

but its not like im going to be checking my egt, oil temp, oil pressure, and boost every time i look down or at my speed!!!!! i only need these to reference or check on my vitals of my car... meaning i can check at a stoplight, or somewhere i am stopped, etc. i did think about that b4 placing them, but i think this spot is sweet cuz they are just perfectly angled to me cuz since i am 6'5, i have to ganxta lean in my car to fit, so it really isnt as low as it may be for other people... plus, my profec b is gonna be ontop of my steering column... and that has a digital boost readout...
well, i only have a wideband digital guage and a safc II, which i use for a boost guage. I mounted the wideband to the top of my steering column, guess you could do this with a regular guage, and i mounted the safc II on top of my A/C vent because i no longer have A/C...keeps everything at a perfect eye level. I just have to glance down...
That isn't ricey, rice is apillars, all the best ricers have them, except the gauges arent hooked up. This is some stealth *** ****, it is tight as hell, looks clean, wanna see it in your car.
We doing the swap this weekend?

damn straight brian...thanks for the backup... they look sick as hel in the car, and i hope that i can get the damn dash hooked up, and all the interior in so that all i have left is the damn engine...
o and how is this ricey??? i have gay *** friends that drive tibruons and tegs and civics and they have damn pillars and noobs think they are turboed... but they arent!!!! i dont want people to know i am turboed, which is y i am fricken painting my intercooler black also...im sorry my gauges arent riced out for u all

I would definitely put the boost gauge where you can see it at a glance, digital readouts often get glared out by the sun. Trust me you will be looking at that boost gauge very often and at time when doing high speeds. Will post pic's of my rice setup tomorow hopefully.
yeah dont worry bout the boos gauge, i am going to be putting my wideband gauge in the spot the boost is at now... i just wanted to see it for the 4 gauge effect...
